Choosing
The
Right Size For Diapering & Other
Uses.
The three layering
numbers refer to the number of fabric
layers of the three panels of the
prefold diaper with the middle panel
being the thickest. Thicker diapers are
generally preferred for home diapering
due to the added absorbency. Most diaper
services use 4x6x4 diapers to economize
on costs and drying time and because
they supply enough diapers for frequent
changes. Most home users prefer 4x8x4
diapers. If you feel your 4x8x4
diapers are too bulky try 4x6x4
diapers. Preemie cloth
diapers make great baby wipes and are
popular as diaper doublers and are also
suitable for the first 2-4 weeks of
diapering after birth. 4x6x4
prefolds are recommended as home
cleaning rags. Regular 4x6x4 cloth
diapers are recommended both for burp
cloths and for automobile detailing.
